A significant discussion took place yesterday (03) between AFC President Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Sri Lanka’s Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Sunil Kumara Gamage, and Deputy Minister Sugath Thilakaratne.
During the meeting, the AFC President acknowledged Sri Lanka’s progress despite economic challenges faced by many Asian nations. He expressed confidence in the country’s development under the current administration.
To boost football in Sri Lanka, AFC has pledged to collaborate with the Ministry of Sports to establish a state-of-the-art international football stadium in the country. Discussions also covered future plans and necessary preparations for this major project.
