The 95th edition of the Battle of the Maroons between Ananda College and Nalanda College concluded without a winner today at the SSC Grounds in Colombo after three days of intense cricket.

Batting first, Ananda College declared their first innings at 324/6. In reply, Nalanda College posted 325/6 before also declaring their innings, securing a slender one-run lead.

Ananda began their second innings but managed only 27/1 before the match ended in a draw, marking the 76th time in history that this prestigious encounter has concluded without a result.

This year’s match was historic as it was the first-ever three-day encounter in the series, which began in 1924 and is played for the Dr. N.M. Perera Memorial Trophy.
