Bangladesh clinched the two-match Test series against Ireland 2–0, after securing a massive 217-run victory in the second Test that concluded today in Mirpur.
Batting first, Bangladesh posted an impressive 476 runs in their first innings. Mushfiqur Rahim scored 106, while Liton Das hammered a superb 128. For Ireland, Andy McBrine delivered a standout bowling performance, taking 6 wickets.
Ireland were restricted to 265 in their first innings, with Lorcan Tucker remaining unbeaten on 75, and Jordan Neil adding 49. Taijul Islam picked up 4 wickets for Bangladesh.
With a strong lead of 211 runs, Bangladesh began their second innings and declared at 297/4, setting Ireland a massive target of 508 runs.
On the final day, during the second session, Bangladesh bowled out Ireland for 291, securing victory by 217 runs. Curtis Campher fought hard with an unbeaten 71, while Harry Tector contributed 50. Taijul Islam and Hasan Murad claimed 4 wickets each.
With this win, Bangladesh completed a 2–0 clean sweep of the Test series.
Mushfiqur Rahim was named Player of the Match, while Taijul Islam earned the Player of the Series award.
