The schedule for the cricket tournament at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games has been officially released, marking a historic return of the sport to the Olympic stage for the first time since 1900.
The Olympics will be held from July 14 to 30, 2028. However, cricket matches are set to begin two days earlier, starting on July 12 with the preliminary round, which will run until July 20. The second round of matches will commence on the same day, July 20.
The gold medal matches for both the men’s and women’s tournaments are scheduled to take place on July 29.
The cricket event will follow the T20 format, with six teams each in both the men’s and women’s categories. Each team will consist of 15 players.
According to reports, participation will likely be determined based on ICC rankings, giving top-ranked teams the opportunity to compete.
