In one of the most anticipated clashes of the 2025 Asia Cup, India defeated arch-rivals Pakistan by seven wickets in yesterday’s match.
Pakistan, opting to bat first after winning the toss, struggled against India’s disciplined bowling attack and were restricted to 127/9 in 20 overs. Continuous loss of wickets halted their momentum, with only Sahibzada Farhan (40) and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi (33) providing some resistance.
For India, Kuldeep Yadav starred with 3 wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel chipped in with two wickets apiece.
Chasing a modest target, India made light work of the run chase, reaching 128/3 in the 16th over. Suryakumar Yadav top-scored with an unbeaten 47, while Abhishek Sharma (31) and Tilak Varma (31) played key roles. All three Indian wickets were taken by Saim Ayub.
The match, however, stirred controversy as Indian players reportedly left the field without the customary handshake with the Pakistan team, sparking debate among fans and commentators.
