India Women secured a 30-run victory over Sri Lanka Women in the fourth T20 International, producing a historic performance in the series.
The match was played in Thiruvananthapuram, where the Indian women’s team recorded the highest total in their T20 cricket history.
Batting first, India dominated the innings to score a massive 221 for 2 in their 20 overs. This stands as the highest score ever recorded by India in a women’s T20 international.
Smriti Mandhana starred with a superb 80 off 48 balls. During her innings, she crossed the landmark of 10,000 runs in international women’s cricket, becoming the fourth player in the world to achieve this remarkable feat.
She was well supported by Shafali Verma, who smashed 79, and Richa Ghosh, who added a quick 40.
In reply, Sri Lanka Women put up a fighting effort, scoring 191 for 6 in their 20 overs.
Captain Chamari Athapaththu top-scored with 52.
With this victory, India have now won all four matches played in the series, continuing their dominant run.
