Play on the fourth day lasted only about 30 minutes. When the day began, Bangladesh were on 115 for 6 in their second innings, still needing 96 more runs to avoid an innings defeat. However, they managed to add only 18 runs this morning, as their innings folded for 133.
Earlier in the match, Bangladesh scored 247 runs in their first innings. In reply, Sri Lanka posted a commanding total of 458 runs.
With this comprehensive win, Sri Lanka claimed the two-match series 1–0.
