The Sri Lanka women’s national cricket team wrapped up a convincing 2-0 T20I series victory over the West Indies women’s national cricket team after a dominant nine-wicket win in the third and final match in St. George’s yesterday.
Batting first, the West Indies posted 119 for 5 in their 20 overs. Chinelle Henry remained unbeaten on 32, while Deandra Dottin scored 28 and Stafanie Taylor added 24.
Inoka Ranaweera delivered a tidy spell, picking up 2 for 16, while Sugandika Kumari claimed 2 for 32. Kavisha Dilhari chipped in with one wicket for just 13 runs.
Chasing a modest target, Sri Lanka cruised to victory in 17.4 overs, losing just one wicket.
Hasini Perera anchored the innings with an unbeaten 52, skipper Chamari Athapaththu contributed 32, and Imesha Dulani finished unbeaten on 34 to seal a comprehensive win.
With this result, Sri Lanka clinched the three-match T20I series 2-0. The first game had been abandoned due to bad weather.
Hasini Perera was named Player of the Match, while Chamari Athapaththu earned Player of the Series honours for her outstanding performances throughout the campaign.
