Nigeria opened the scoring in the 38th minute, finishing the first half with a 1-0 lead.
However, Ivory Coast made a strong comeback in the second half, scoring two goals in the 62nd and 81st minutes. Nigeria failed to respond with any goals in the second half.
With this 2-1 victory, Ivory Coast secured their third African Cup of Nations title.
