At an athletics selection trial organized by the Sri Lanka Athletics Association, javelin thrower Sumedha Ranasinghe achieved a remarkable throw of 82.56 meters.
The event took place today at the Diyagama Stadium.
Ranasinghe’s throw stands as the longest recorded javelin throw by a Sri Lankan athlete in 2025 so far.
Meanwhile, Rumesh Tharanga also delivered a strong performance, recording a throw of 79.58 meters, marking the second-longest distance achieved by a Sri Lankan javelin thrower this year.
