The hard-fought contest saw Janidu Wijerathne power through for two tries, while Gayan Perera and Janith Marasinghe each added a try to the tally. The spirited performance showcased both speed and resilience, as Sri Lanka held off a late surge from Hong Kong to seal the win.
The championship, featuring Asia’s top youth rugby nations, is being held over two days in India, with Sri Lanka aiming to carry their momentum forward into the remaining fixtures.
