Jamaica’s Oblique Seville emerged as the fastest man in the world after winning the men’s 100m title at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. Seville clocked an electrifying 9.77 seconds, the fastest time of his career, to secure the gold medal.
His compatriot, Kishane Thompson, claimed silver with a time of 9.82 seconds, while America’s Noah Lyles took bronze.
In the women’s 100m, the spotlight fell on the United States’ Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, who sprinted to gold in 10.61 seconds, establishing herself as the fastest woman of the competition. Jamaica’s Tina Clayton took silver, while Saint Lucia’s Julien Alfred secured the bronze medal.
The 2025 World Athletics Championships are currently taking place in Tokyo, Japan.
