Sri Lanka secured a total of five medals at the Third Asian Youth Para Games, currently being held in Dubai.
Sri Lanka’s first two gold medals of the Games were won by Dilmini Udumbara Gamage. Competing in the Under-17 F40 category, Dilmini delivered an outstanding performance by winning gold medals in both the Discus Throw and Javelin Throw events.
Meanwhile, Senuwara Sandilu, competing in the Under-17 T47 category, claimed a gold medal in the 100m sprint, while also earning a bronze medal in the Long Jump event.
In addition, Mohammed Isham Yunus, who competed in the Under-20 T47 category, secured a bronze medal in the 400m event, further adding to Sri Lanka’s medal tally.
Sri Lanka’s young para athletes continue to make the nation proud with their remarkable performances on the Asian stage.
