West Indies’ explosive all-rounder Andre Russell has announced his decision to retire from international cricket following the conclusion of the upcoming T20I series against Australia in Jamaica.
The 37-year-old will play his final two T20Is during the Australia tour and is set to officially end his illustrious international career after those matches.
Russell has represented the West Indies across all three formats. He has played 84 T20Is, 56 ODIs, and one Test match. Known for his devastating hitting and powerful presence on the field, Russell has amassed 1,078 runs and 61 wickets in T20Is, along with 1,034 runs and 70 wickets in ODIs.
A genuine match-winner with both bat and ball, Russell played a key role in West Indies’ T20 World Cup campaigns and is widely regarded as one of the most dynamic players of his generation.
Though his international appearances became sporadic in recent years due to fitness concerns and franchise commitments, his impact on the shorter formats remains unmatched.
Russell will continue to feature in global franchise leagues after stepping away from the international stage.
