India secured a commanding 48-run victory over Australia in the fourth T20I held today at Carrara, taking a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

After winning the toss, Australian skipper Mitchell Marsh chose to bowl first. India posted a competitive total of 167 for 8 in their 20 overs. Shubman Gill top-scored with 46 runs, while Abhishek Sharma added 28. In the closing overs, Axar Patel played a quick-fire unbeaten knock of 21 runs, helping India reach a defendable score.

For Australia, Adam Zampa and Nathan Ellis claimed three wickets each, keeping India in check.

In reply, Australia struggled against India’s disciplined bowling attack, being bowled out for just 119 runs. Mitchell Marsh (30) and Matthew Short (25) were the only notable contributors with the bat.

India’s bowling was led by Washington Sundar, who took 3 wickets, while Axar Patel and Shivam Dube chipped in with 2 wickets each, sealing a comfortable win for the visitors.

With this victory, India moved ahead 2-1 in the series with one game remaining. Axar Patel, for his all-round brilliance, was named the Player of the Match.
