India has advanced to the final of the Champions Trophy after a 4-wicket victory against Australia in the first semifinal held in Dubai.
After winning the toss, Australia opted to bat first, posting a total of 264 all out. Steve Smith (73) and Alex Carey (61) were the top scorers. For India, Mohammed Shami claimed 3 wickets, while Varun Chakravarthy and Ravindra Jadeja took 2 wickets each.
In response, India successfully chased the target in 49 overs, finishing at 267/6. Virat Kohli led the charge with a match-winning 84 runs, supported by Shreyas Iyer (45) and KL Rahul (42). Australian bowlers Adam Zampa and Nathan Ellis picked up 2 wickets each.
Virat Kohli was named Player of the Match for his brilliant performance.
The second semifinal between South Africa and New Zealand is scheduled to take place tomorrow.
