Sri Lanka secured a 1-0 victory against Yemen in a friendly football match held yesterday (16) in Qatar.
The first half ended goalless, with neither team managing to score. However, in the 89th minute of the second half, Jack Hengar netted the decisive goal for Sri Lanka. Yemen’s players were unable to equalize before the final whistle.
With this win, Sri Lanka claimed victory over a higher-ranked opponent; Yemen is currently ranked 154th in the FIFA rankings, while Sri Lanka holds the 203rd position.
The two teams are set to face each other again in a second friendly match tomorrow.
