The Sri Lankan women’s and men’s hockey teams wrapped up their Asian Hockey Championship campaigns on a high in Jakarta, Indonesia!
In the women’s division, Sri Lanka locked horns with Uzbekistan to decide the 5th place. After trailing 2-1 at halftime, the Lankan ladies fought back bravely to level the scores 3-3 by the end of regulation time.
It all came down to a tense penalty shootout — and Sri Lanka held their nerve, converting 3 penalties to clinch a thrilling victory and secure a commendable 5th place finish!
Meanwhile, in the men’s division, Sri Lanka battled Thailand for 7th place. Leading 2-1 at halftime, the Lankan men kept the pressure on, eventually sealing the win with a dominant 6-4 scoreline by full time.
Both teams showed heart, hustle, and high energy to finish their campaigns on a winning note!
