Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz and Serbia’s Novak Djokovic have qualified for the men’s singles final of this year’s Australian Open.

Alcaraz secured his place in the final after defeating Germany’s Alexander Zverev in a thrilling semifinal battle 3–2 in sets.

Alcaraz claimed the first two sets 6–4, 7–6, but Zverev fought back strongly to win the third and fourth sets, both in tiebreaks 7–6, 7–6. In the decisive fifth set, Alcaraz held his nerve to win 7–5.
According to international reports, the marathon encounter lasted 5 hours and 27 minutes.

Meanwhile, Serbian superstar Novak Djokovic also booked his place in the final by defeating defending champion Jannik Sinner of Italy, also in a five-set battle (3–2).

At 38 years old, Djokovic is competing in the Australian Open with the goal of capturing a record-extending 25th Grand Slam title, adding even more history to his legendary career.

The stage is now set for a generational clash between youth and experience in Melbourne.
