France secured their place in the FIFA World Cup semi-finals with a commanding 2-0 victory over Morocco in the first quarter-final played at Boston Stadium, USA.
This marks the eighth time France have reached the semi-finals of a FIFA World Cup, underlining their status as one of the tournament’s most successful nations.
More than 63,000 spectators packed the stadium to witness a closely contested first half, with both teams displaying impressive attacking football but failing to find the breakthrough before halftime.

The goal also saw Mbappé draw level with Lionel Messi as the tournament’s joint-leading scorer with 8 goals. At 27 years old, Mbappé has now scored 20 FIFA World Cup goals, making him the second-highest scorer in World Cup history.
France doubled their advantage in the 66th minute, when Ousmane Dembélé found the back of the net to put the result beyond doubt.
The match ended 2-0 in favour of France, sending them into the semi-finals, where they await the outcome of the second quarter-final between Spain and Belgium.
