India completed a dominant 5-0 clean sweep over Sri Lanka in the inaugural Deaf Women’s T20 International series, bringing a historic five-match contest to a successful conclusion in Moratuwa.
The final of the first-ever Sri Lanka-India Deaf Women’s T20 International Series was held on July 13 at the De Soysa Stadium in Moratuwa, with Sri Lanka’s Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sunil Kumara Gamage, attending as the chief guest at the opening ceremony.
The landmark series was organised to promote deaf women’s cricket on the international stage while strengthening sporting ties and friendship between Sri Lanka and India. The minister also took time to inspect the stadium’s infrastructure and pledged the Ministry’s full support to upgrade sports facilities as part of the government’s commitment to developing the country’s sporting infrastructure.
India capped off an impressive tour by winning the final and completing a 5-0 series whitewash.

The Indian Deputy High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Maithri Kulkarni, attended the presentation ceremony as the chief guest.
Among the distinguished guests were Member of Parliament Sugath Wasantha, Moratuwa Mayor Nishantha Fernando, President of the Indian Deaf Cricket Association Sumit Jain, President of the Sri Lanka Deaf Cricket Association Mohamed Naiser, along with several sports officials and invited dignitaries.
