In response, Australia lost their first wicket at 32 runs when Nishan Peiris dismissed Travis Head for 21. Later, Prabath Jayasuriya removed Marnus Labuschagne for just 4 runs.
At lunch, Australia stands at 85/2, with Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith at the crease. They are still trailing Sri Lanka by 172 runs.
