Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana has risen to the No.1 position in the ICC ODI Bowling Rankings, marking a historic first in his career. This is the first time he has reached the top spot in the rankings.
Previously ranked second, Theekshana now leads the latest rankings with 680 points, surpassing Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, who holds the second position.
Theekshana has played four ODIs this year, taking 11 wickets, with his best performance being 4/40 against Australia. Additionally, he ranks fourth among the highest wicket-takers of the year.
Having played 52 ODIs in his career so far, Theekshana has claimed 76 wickets, further solidifying his reputation as one of the most consistent spinners in world cricket.
