The Media Ministry cricket team has successfully qualified for the semi-finals of the “Group D” stage in the 2025 State Services 50-over Cricket Tournament, organized by the Sri Lanka State Services Cricket Association.

This achievement comes after the team’s previous successes — being champions of Group “F” in 2023 and Group “E” in 2024.

At the end of the group stage matches, the Media Ministry team secured 13 bonus points and held the second position in Group D, thereby booking their place in the semi-finals.

Group D featured nine teams in total, and from these, four advanced to the semi-finals:

  • Sri Lanka Police Department
  • Ministry of Mass Media
  • University of Kelaniya
  • Southern Provincial Council

Accordingly, the semi-final matches will be as follows:

  • On June 25, 2025: Sri Lanka Police vs Southern Provincial Council
  • On June 27, 2025: Media Ministry vs University of Kelaniya

The winners will face off in the grand final of the 2025 State Services Cricket Tournament.
