Gamini Wickramapala has been appointed as the Director General of the National Youth Corps today (20th) by Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sunil Kumara Gamage, at the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
Gamini Wickramapala, who has over thirty years of experience in the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, has previously served as the Director General of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, as well as the Chairman of the Sugathadasa Indoor Sports Complex Authority. He has also served as the Acting Chairman of the National Youth Services Council for some time.
The ceremony to hand over the appointment letter to the new Director General of the National Youth Corps was attended by Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs Eranga Gunasekara and Deputy Minister of Sports Sugath Tilakaratne.
