Sri Lanka’s Yevan David Claims Historic Victory in Euroformula Open’s First Round

Sri Lankan racer Yevan David has secured a remarkable victory in the first round of the 2025 Euroformula Open Championship.

This year’s Euroformula Open series features eight rounds in total. The first round was held at the Portimão Circuit in Portugal, consisting of three races.

In the first race, Yevan David finished in third place, delivering a strong start to the season. The second race, spanning 18 laps, saw Yevan clinch victory, clocking a time of 29 minutes, 11.34 seconds.

In the third race, contested over 14 laps, Yevan once again showcased his brilliance, taking the win with a time of 24 minutes, 46.58 seconds.

With a total of 65 points collected across the three races, Yevan David claimed the overall championship for the first round.

At just 17 years old, this achievement marks a historic milestone, as Yevan becomes the first Sri Lankan to win a round in the prestigious Euroformula Open Championship.

The second round of the 2025 Euroformula Open is scheduled to be held in Belgium on May 18.
