Australia secured a record-extending seventh ICC Women’s T20 World Cup title after defeating England in the final played at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Sunday.
Batting first, England posted 150/4 from their 20 overs. Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt remained unbeaten on 58, while Freya Kemp contributed 44.
Chasing a target of 151, Australia comfortably reached 153/3 in just 17.1 overs to seal a dominant seven-wicket victory.
Beth Mooney led the successful chase with a superb 64, while Phoebe Litchfield added a valuable 48.
Mooney capped off a remarkable tournament by winning both the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament awards.
The tournament featured 12 teams, with Sri Lanka exiting at the group stage.
This was the 10th edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, and Australia added to their incredible legacy by claiming their seventh title, having previously lifted the trophy in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2018, 2020, and 2023.
