The 18th edition of the IPL kicked off today with an exciting clash between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Winning the toss, RCB opted to bowl first.
Batting first, KKR posted a total of 174/8, with captain Ajinkya Rahane scoring 56 runs and Sunil Narine adding 44. In the bowling attack, Krunal Pandya claimed three wickets, while Josh Hazlewood took two.
In response, RCB chased down the target comfortably in the 17th over, losing only three wickets. Star batter Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 59, while Phil Salt contributed 56 runs.
The next match of the tournament will see Chennai Super Kings take on Mumbai Indians in Chennai.
